Helmed by Steve Violette, the Great Duck Race was initiated as a trial to see if a duck race would work in Westport. Suprisingly, the event was a smashing success, nearly doubling expectations for profits...all of which are used for distributions to local and international charities. In 2009 the Race netted about $20,000! The expectation is that each year the event will generate more donations than the prior year.
